This is what your day will look like:

As HR director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an HR strategy at group level that enables our organization to achieve our growth ambitions and strengthen our position in the international desserts, pastries and cookies market arena. You work from the head office in Zonnebeke. 

You will play a key role in promoting a culture of diversity, inclusion and talent development, while optimizing operational HR processes to ensure efficiency. You will collaborate with the senior management team to integrate HR initiatives into the broader business strategy, creating a work environment where employees feel valued, inspired and motivated to deliver their best work. As a strategic partner, you will be the driving force behind change initiatives and continuous improvement in HR practices and policies. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organization Development: develop and implement strategies to enhance organizational effectiveness, foster a positive work culture, and drive employee engagement.
  • Employer Branding: lead initiatives to strengthen our employer brand, attract top talent, and position Poppies Bakeries as an employer of choice in the industry.
  • Succession Planning: design and execute succession planning programs to identify and develop high-potential employees, ensuring continuity in leadership and critical roles.
  • Compensation and Benefits: harmonize/align the C&B framework across countries while respecting local customs and legislation.
  • Training and Development: develop comprehensive training and development programs to enhance employee skills, foster professional growth, and support career advancement.
  • Performance Management: ensure that a uniform performance management review system is rolled out within the different countries.

This is what we expect from you:

  • Master's degree (laws by preference).
  • Proven track record in HR leadership in an international environment, preferably within an international sales and production food or FMCG environment (minimum 3 years at executive level).
  • You have a good knowledge of Dutch, French and English.
  • Experience navigating payroll processes and adeptness with intricate social legislation.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate HR initiatives into business impact.
  • Communicative and inspiring leader capable of engaging and motivating a diverse group of stakeholders with a collaborative and inclusive approach.
  • Experience working within an environment characterized by hierarchical and functional division of responsibilities.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
