This is what your day will look like:

  • You collect data on HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) to develop an effective HSE policy based on reporting and observations.
  • You implement and maintain this HSE policy in collaboration with our local departments to ensure that all processes are up-to-date, consistent, and in line with regulations.
  • You initiate group initiatives to raise safety awareness and reduce workplace accidents. During meetings with different sites, you act as the moderator to ensure best practices are shared.
  • You organise safety audits in consultation with local safety coordinators and guide them in taking appropriate (preventive) measures.
  • You coach and mentor local departments to promote a safety culture within the organisation.
  • In terms of environment, you support our external environmental coordinator.
  • You report to the COO.

This is what we expect from you:

  • Proven track record as an HSE manager in an industrial environment (preferably in the food industry).
  • You hold a master’s degree in a relevant field or have equivalent experience and possess a level 2 prevention advisor certificate (an environmental coordinator certificate is a plus).
  • You actively promote the HSE policy and can persuade and motivate others in Dutch, French, and English.
  • You are a strategic thinker but take a practical, hands-on approach.
  • You mainly work from our largest production sites in Zonnebeke, Komen, and d'Haubry, but you are willing to travel occasionally to our other European sites (the Netherlands, Sweden, and France).

This is what you get in return:

  • The opportunity to work on concrete projects that have a real impact on safety, health within our organisation, and the environment.
  • Together with your colleagues, you take part in our Sweet Adventure growth programme, allowing both you and our company to grow.
  • We offer you an attractive salary, complemented by a company car, meal vouchers, and group and hospitalisation insurance. You can maintain a good work-life balance thanks to our flexible hours, occasional remote work, and 6 additional leave days (ADV).
  • By bike or car, you can reach work without traffic jams.
  • You have plenty of freedom to shape your role as you see fit.

Tasty testimonials

I recently started working at Poppies Bakeries as a demand planner. My main task is to ensure that our organisation has the best possible idea of what the demand for our products is at a given time. I can help build solutions that have an impact and, furthermore, the rapid growth of the company means that exciting new challenges are always presenting themselves. I also enjoy the friendly atmosphere in the workplace, and the products are delicious, by the way!
