This is what your day will look like:

At our Hugo Wafels site in Tubize, we are currently looking for a Plant Manager who, with a hands-on mentality and strong people skills, can elevate our site to the next level. As Plant Manager, you will be the key figure in production and responsible for the operational management of our site. You will lead a dynamic team, combining strategic insight with a practical approach.

  • Motivate and lead a team of around 20 FTEs, ensuring smooth collaboration.
  • Support technical processes and act as a problem solver in addressing technical challenges.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for specific customers and provide professional responses to their inquiries.
  • Coach your team to improve performance and efficiency, ensuring the company’s further expansion.
  • Ensure sufficient training for your employees to enable them to work independently.
  • Monitor quality standards and assist with audits.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and packaging.
  • As a responsible leader, help define the company’s strategy and report directly to the Operations Manager.

This is what we expect from you:

You are an all-rounder with:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing company in a leadership role, preferably in the food sector.
  • Strong people management skills that bring out the best in employees and motivate them to achieve higher performance.
  • A sense of order, cleanliness, and hygiene, with a strong commitment to quality.
  • The ability to respect budgets and objectives.
  • Technical expertise and a hands-on mentality: you lead from the shop floor.
  • A healthy dose of perseverance and drive.
  • Proficiency in Dutch, French, and English.

This is what you get in return:

  • Together with your colleagues, you join our Sweet Adventure growth journey, enabling both your personal development and the growth of our organisation.
  • The chance to play a key role in the success of our production site.
  • Plenty of room for initiative and independent work.
  • A competitive salary complemented by additional benefits (company car with charging card, meal vouchers, and health insurance).
  • You’ll be part of a warm organisation with friendly colleagues, where you can enjoy the sweet scent of cookies every day.
  • Every day, you contribute to The Sweet Adventure, ensuring people around the world can enjoy our delicious products.
  • A delightful adventure!

Tasty testimonials

I’ve been working as a production line worker for 18 years, first at d’Haubry and then at Poppies Bakeries after the takeover. Laughter and chatting in the workplace are not frowned on, which I very much appreciate. Being able to make people happy with a biscuit makes me happy too. Back in the day, there were only 4 of us working at d’Haubry. Since then, our production environment has evolved and been automated a great deal since then, giving me the opportunity to evolve over the years too!
