This is what your day will look like:

As a Purchase Officer, you are the right hand of the Purchase Manager. You are primarily responsible for taking over administrative tasks and act as the central link in the ordering process of packaging materials for one of our Belgian production sites or specific product groups.

You proactively ensure that all packaging materials are delivered on time and are constantly looking for improvements, both large and small. You interpret data in such a way that you can make the right combinations before placing orders. You respond flexibly to production changes and potential delivery issues with suppliers. Clear and smooth communication with colleagues and suppliers is essential to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Ordering and calling off packaging materials in time, based on the production plan and expected needs.
  • Proactively following up on order confirmations and deliveries to ensure a smooth supply.
  • Monitoring stock levels and ensuring they remain under control.
  • Handling and following up on complaints related to quality and deliveries, and providing appropriate solutions.
  • Managing contracts and price agreements in the ERP system (SAP); experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Checking deviating invoices and preventing errors through accurate master data management.
  • Supporting the Purchase Manager in the day-to-day operations of the department, contributing to efficient operations.
  • Reporting directly to the Purchase Manager.

This is what we expect from you:

  • You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent through experience.
  • You have a background in a technical or economic field – or a strong interest in these domains.
  • You already have several years of experience in a production environment. Experience in a similar role? That’s definitely a plus!
  • You adapt priorities easily, are energetic, stress-resistant, and good at time management.
  • You work independently, proactively, and hands-on.
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch, French and English – both spoken and written.

This is what you get in return:

  • Together with your colleagues, you take part in our Sweet Adventure growth journey, allowing both you and our organisation to grow.
  • We offer you a versatile and challenging position in an international, growing family business with a dynamic culture and a collegial atmosphere.
  • You can count on an attractive salary package including a range of extra-legal benefits.
  • You’ll have the space and opportunities to follow trainings and grow in your role.
  • At Poppies Bakeries, we invest in a healthy work-life balance through flexible working hours and 6 additional leave days (ADV).
  • Every day, you contribute to The Sweet Adventure, making sure people around the world can enjoy our delicious products.
  • A truly delightful adventure.
